Categorizing street art involves multiple lenses, reflecting its different forms, intentions, and contexts. Based on the medium used, the technique used or the intended effect, we can distinguish the following types:
Graffiti: includes various styles like tagging, throw-ups, and wildstyle.
Mural : large-scale paintings on walls, often commissioned or legally placed.
Paper-like: techniques resembling paper works, such as stencils, stickers, posters.
Sculpture: three-dimensional artworks placed, sometimes temporary, or interactive 3D works.
Digital/NMS (new media street art) : projections, AR, or light installations.
Mosaic : tile or ceramic fragment installations.
Other : other street art, which do not fit in the above list.
